After studying illustration at Central St. Martin’s in London, I worked for many years as an editorial illustrator. I was then given the fantastic opportunity to illustrate The Dirty Great Dinosaur by Martin Waddell and soon discovered illustrating picture books about dinosaurs, gorillas and other animals with funny names and interesting habits was much more up my street.
I have a very large collection of fat (and extremely blunt) pencils which I use in combination with my computer to create my illustrations. I live with my husband and two sons in Gloucestershire in an old creaky house which has an untidy ghost who is always moving pencils and pencil sharpeners.
Apart from picture books my pastimes include gardening, slug management and recovering tiny (but very important) pieces of Star Wars Lego from under things.
